I’ve always felt like Father’s Day takes a place at a lower tier than Mother’s Day which is really kind of sad.
On Mother’s Day we have these expectations (whether they come to fruition or not) that mom’s are going to be spoiled; they’ll get breakfast in bed and flowers and the day off and a trip to the spa and brunch. In church they take really great care of us and give us treats and talk about how wonderful moms are all day.
Father’s Day is not surrounded with the same oomph and expectation that Mother’s Day is. Some might even argue that Father’s Day is seen as less important or unnecessary. And that’s not really fair.
Dad’s are role models to their sons and daughters. They are the hero’s, the protectors, the fixers, the fun parent (sometimes), and they’re equally as important as Mothers but in their own unique ways.
I know for a fact that I couldn’t do half the things I’m able to do without Jake there to help me parent and run our home. We’re teammates, and we’re equals.
So why wouldn’t I want our family to celebrate him on Father’s Day just as much as we celebrated me on Mother’s Day?!
Another story: I consider myself a great gift giver for pretty much everyone…except Jake. For some reason his gifts are always better than mine (not that it’s a competition), but this year with the help of Parabo Press I was able to create some beautiful gifts that Jake will love!
First I made this cute little softcover photo book full of the photo’s we had done by Kamra Fuller Photography after Lincoln was born in our home. She did an amazing job, and now we have another spot to look at our cute family photos.
I also created this awesome (and huge!) black and white engineer print of Dodgers Stadium. If you couldn’t tell, Jake is a huge baseball fan and loves the LA Dodgers. So to add a little more of his personality around our pretty feminine home, I hung this bad boy in our living room.
Parabo Press is a great place to create photo gifts for anyone on your gift list this Father’s Day. Whether you need photo prints, you want to create a photo book, or you’re looking for a large poster or a metal print. You can also find things like these cool poster rails and other display options for your photo creation.
And just because they love my readers, Parabo Press was kind enough to give me a coupon code for a free set of 4″ square prints! Just use code BUNSQ for your set!
I hope you enjoy spoiling dad with great photo gifts this Father’s Day!
